Dialects at the touch of a button

Turn the unit's crank until the light turns green and press a button. The ActiveGuide will then play the first audio track. In Büchold, the geographical center of Lower Franconia, regional language examples from the four cardinal directions can be heard at the touch of a button. For example, if your press the WEST button, sequences from Aschaffenburg-Obernau will be played. If you press the SOUTH button, Bütthard dialect will be played.

The weather-proof ActiveGuide is attached to a four-meter-high compass rose mast. The 4 meters Lower Franconian dialect compass is a part of the "Experience Büchold" village tour. The ActiveGuide which plays dialects, was started in 2023, as a test project between the Association for the Preservation of Lower Franconian Dialect, the Dialect Institute of University of Würzburg and soundgarden GmbH. We are very happy about this successful project and that the ActiveGuide has also made it into the newspaper :)
